Most powers are elemental based, manipulating environmental energies to harness a particular one. Fire, Water, Wood, Wind, Earth and Lightning are the elements that Shifters have been known to possess but there have been whispers that there may be more that have not yet been discovered. Those who are capable of using magic are referred to as Magelings and are highly valued by their Tribes. All Magelings have a minor affinity to speak with spirits and plant life. Their level of comprehension depends on how much magic they wield. A Mageling can choose any occupation and for those who become apprentices to their Tribe Shaman become candidates to take on such duties when the acting Shaman is unable to. _______________________________________________________________ The Lacerta are the most magically advanced since it was their God who shared his knowledge with the Shifters. However, they do not have a large pool of magically achieved people within their Tribe. The Canis are the weakest when it comes to magic and only 1 out of every 20 are capable of wielding it. At the same time they prove very resistant to magical attacks. The Avis show no problems wielding magic but the majority of them who do have it are wind or lightning elementals. The Felis have the largest pool of magical users but their prowess in the use of their element is weak. _______________________________________________________________ Shamans and Apothecary's are the most magically talented of their Tribes as well as medically achieved. They are the only ones able to transfer their magic to others to bolster another Mageling - though it greatly weakens them for a 24hr period. The abundance of magic that they wield has given them the abilities that other Magelings do not possess but have only ever had one power aside from their element naturally. Though sometimes encounters with magical artifacts, forgotten Gods and benevolent spirits give others outside of Shamans these abilities as well.
