He was hit as a young boy by his father, his mother not a source of help and instead idly sitting by, watching. His whole life he was told he was going to be a soldier and it somewhat excited him, knowing he would have an output source for rage and anger, knowing it would be something he would really be good at. As soon as he turned eighteen, he was sent off to the training camp. His mind was a thousand times lighter with the idea in his head that he could get away from all the abuse he received. And that he did, only he received abuse of a different kind, than which he received from training and the army itself. Even though all the training was hard, he found himself liking it more and more. He learned the wonders of fighting he grew more and more addicted to the rush of it gave him, not to mention the feeling of being victorious in a battle. He soon began to fight merely for the addiction and not just because he was supposed to. When he lost he forced himself to train for several hours straight, all necessities becoming unimportant until he felt he was back up to par. His anger issues began to present themselves, though they were only directed at himself, whenever he lost his control over his emotions or the situation. He lost this control when he went back to see his father and mother. Ryder's father was the same abusive bastard as before and tried to push Ryder around. That approach no longer worked, Ryder had learned pride and to stand up for himself in the army. He ended up fighting his father and crippling him severely, along with wounding the older shifter's pride. Ryder walked away that day leaving his mom to make a decision on whether to stay with his father or not. He didn't care anymore and has yet to contact her to see if she has left him. Ryder had gotten his revenge and that is all that matters.
