EXTRA EXTRA[/style][STYLE=width: 400px; padding: 10px; background-color: d5d5d5; font-family: arial; color: 313131; font-size: 11px;]★ H I S T O R Y: both of aadesh's parents believed they were people destined for great things. his mother was a young, talented performer, living simply with what money she made in dancing and singing. his father was considerably older, a greedy lecher who had always desired the finer things in life. the man was a merchant, and quite the skilled one at that. in addition to his trading he dabbled in other lines of work, anything to rake in a bit of extra money. he had worked hard to start a small business in town, building it from the ground up with his earnings. it was shortly after he opened his shop that he set his eyes on aadesh's mother, and how could the young woman not trip over herself with the gold and gems the man offered blinding her? aadesh was a welcome addition to the family, at first. the child attracted quite a bit of attention. while his father hardly noticed, his mother enjoyed it thoroughly, dragging her boy along with her wherever she went. however it didn't take long for her to realize there was more to being a parent than just standing in the spotlight. the boy's cries often kept the pair up at night, and with his mother spending so much time with him his father was becoming jealous. he opted to hire a maid to care for the child, demanding his wife spend more time with him. she of course didn't argue, relieved to have someone else take the child off her hands. from that point on the only time aadesh was found with either of his parents was when it benefited them in some way. otherwise they wanted little to do with the boy. aadesh was the type of child that always had to ask "why," and always had to be the center of attention. he jumped from one nanny to another, none of them stuck around for long to deal with the spoiled child, and his parents' treatment of the hired help often lead to them simply giving up their jobs and going elsewhere for work. aadesh was often left in the hands of other mothers, left to play with the other children his age. not that he ever played well with them. his selfish attitude made him difficult to get along with, and he hardly respected the authority of whoever was so kind as to lend a hand in keeping an eye on him. many thought he was more trouble than he was worth. while he was intelligent, and seemed as strong as any other canis, anyone who spent enough time around the boy would notice there was something that wasn't quite right. he ran out of energy quickly, he hardly ever wanted to eat, and he lost his breath much too often. aadesh, while having always been the type to complain, didn't say a word to his parents. so his caretaker took it into her own hands. when his parents came to him in search of answers he denied everything, claiming that he just got bored easily so he sat out a lot of games. preferring to believe that their child was simply lazy over possibly ill, they fired the woman helping to care for him and went in search of another. as he got older he was pushed more and more into becoming a warrior by his father, who wanted to be seen as a strong man for raising a powerful son. aadesh had taken a liking to his mother's dancing however, and practiced with her often. while it was allowed, he was still strongly encouraged to participate in the coliseum games. eventually he broke down when his father hired a personal trainer to help teach him to fight. he was a fast learner, but he tired easily, and often his lessons ended up cut short. both his parents and his instructor blamed it on his "laziness." aadesh didn't argue. instead he sucked it up and continued to train, mentally preparing himself for the life of a warrior despite the fact nothing about it appealed to him. anything to silence his father. but he started slowing down. suddenly it seemed as if his energy had been sapped away, and he had hardly been getting any rest. horrifying images and violent dreams ripped him from his sleep, leaving him awake and shivering in his bed. he found it impossible to relax afterward, and had become extremely jumpy and paranoid. his parents weren't worried, they assured him that it was just his mind playing tricks and that he should just ignore them. however when aadesh's trainer heard of these dreams he suggested he see the tribe shaman. figuring it wouldn't do any harm, they allowed it, and aadesh went off to see the elderly woman, hoping she could help to put a stop to these night terrors. with it being such a dangerous time, the shaman was extremely busy. she hardly had the time to see him. however when she did, she was surprised. he showed no signs of being able to control any element, but his psychic power was beyond what she had expected. most likely because he had waited so long before finally addressing the issue. he was asked to stay and train with the other magelings. he found training these abilities to be even more tiring than working to improve in physical combat. it seemed when he wasn't sleeping, he was up practicing, meditating, or reading. honestly, he would rather be laying around at home as he had done before, but he figured it would be better for him than to continue with the path his father had set for him. for his age, he hadn't progressed nearly as far as he should have. he had waited much too long to go and see the shaman, and the pace at which he was learning was aggravating to her. the two hardly got along, and anyone who had seen the two together could tell you just what one thought of the other. but as the war was coming to a close the shaman was dying, and she knew she had little choice but to allow aadesh to take her position. aadesh knew it was coming. but he hadn't expected it to come so suddenly. his training was complete, but he was hardly experienced enough to step up and become the new shaman when she died. suddenly he could feel there was a great weight on his shoulders, and instantly he wanted to resign. but he kept with it. despite his inexperience and sometimes clumsy methods, he was determined to earn the respect of those who had put their complete trust in the shaman before him. while nightmares still plagued him he had managed to find ways to better sleep, and was slowly regaining his energy. it was a relief to see that the peaceful times they had entered into were remaining just that way, without any sort of violence or war. he was being allowed time to settle into his position. still, he couldn't help but worry, certain he didn't yet have the skills it took to be a shaman but far from humble enough to admit it. ★ F A C E - C L A I M: olimpos - apollo, aadesh gala ★ N A M E: ladykae ★ C H
