He is simply too proud a person to even consider informing his kingdom of the origins of his birth which would likely have him heralded as trash among his people. Hybrids, while not reviled, are still looked down upon for their impure blood. Those born of two races do not often make it anywhere in the world but Kahdal was a reaper of fate and fortune, perhaps even born under a lucky star for the way his life turned out from how it could have been had things not played out as they have. His passionate dislike of harlots and the lot stems from his own experiences. Kahdal’s mother was one such woman of the night but worse than her repulsive profession was the fact that she was a Felis Shifter. She was an outcast of her family for multiple reasons that are unknown to him; he has never cared enough to investigate and has made the executive decision to deem her fate her own doing. His mother who is nameless to even him was presumably from the territories occupied by her kind and was the lucky female to be chosen by a visiting noble at a party being held for political reasons. She had been one of the many women selected as entertainers and it was just her luck that the visiting diplomat happened to be the prince of the Canis tribes and through their single night of passion was Kahdal conceived. When he was born it was within a brothel. Often enough times he has questioned why his mother did not drown him as a babe as many of the other women did to their unwanted broods, but he speculated that she had him for her own selfish gains and cannot blame her for doing so. She raised him by herself until he was ten and deemed old enough to travel the distance from the Kydai territories to the Augreth tribes while the massive wolf God still lived among his people. Augreth had sired many children, rather indiscriminately, among his five wives and the little prince who was Kahdal’s father was one of the three chosen to be his golden children. Kahdal’s mother shamelessly used his relation to the prince as a manner of getting herself admitted into the lives of the Canis court and it would have worked had the prince not been mated already and his wife, a jealous bitch, killing her discreetly. The only reason Kahdal did not share his mother’s fate was because Augreth caught the female in the act of trying to smother him and beheaded her unremorsefully. From that single act of mercy Kahdal became very attached to the God King and favored him above his father. But a half-breed is still a half-breed and his existence, for a while, was kept secret. He didn’t have any physical attributes to give away his mixed heritage in spite of having the blonde hair and fair features of his mother. His shifted form was wolf and none would be wiser to say he wasn’t full Canis especially while sharing his fathers hot-temperedness and red-eyed. He was introduced formally a few years after as the princes first born and from then on was recognized as part of the royal line. Kahdal enrolled in the warrior program when he was eighteen, learning the way of the blade mostly at the behest of his father due to their violent confrontations in the hopes of giving him the discipline he had neglected to administer. In doing so he created a monster. Kahdal enjoyed blood sports and was not shy about his sadistic nature – something Augreth found amusing. However, his graduation fell upon the same month as his coming of age ceremony and while this in and of itself was not a problem; his ceremony was never held due to Augreth’s decision to invade the Felis lands. Not that Kahdal minded. As war waged Kahdal created a name for himself, proving to have been a mageling during his training to become a warrior and using his affinity over fire to devastate his enemies. He was often called ‘The Second coming of Augreth’ a title that has held since the warring days. The five year battled roared on until Augreth’s demise. His uncles, generals of their forces, were unfortunately killed in battle but his father miraculously survived. Without a leader it would have been natural for his sire to take over but Kahdal challenged him to a duel that was officially accepted by their tribe and killed him in cold blood.
